The Social Studies department will be hosting our 2nd annual History is Central Day on Wednesday May 4, 2022. Students in 6th - 10th grade will be participating in the event both during school from 1:15-3:00, and before the band concert that evening 5 pm - 7 pm.
We want our students to be able to showcase all of their hard work. If possible we would also like the students to attend between concerts to answer questions.
What is History Day?
National History Day is an interdisciplinary research project for students in grades 6-12.
History Day teaches students to:
- Conduct in-depth research
- Use primary and secondary sources
- Read a variety of texts
- Analyze and synthesize information
- Write and present historical context
Students choose a topic that relates to an annual theme, research that topic, and develop their research into one of five presentation categories: Push Button Theater, Exhibit, Documentary, Performance, or Website.
We are excited for the community to see what our students put together.
