Central Middle and High school have some exciting changes that are being implemented in second semester of this school year. Over the past few months, Central has been working to implement a scheduled time during the school day to provide academic support and various enrichment opportunities focused on helping all our students succeed.
Beginning at the start of our second semester, students can anticipate a change in our schedule to incorporate our new WIN Time.
WIN is an acronym that stands for What I Need, and is a student-centered initiative that provides additional time during the school day for students to seek out support from their teachers, or other staff members, in areas that they may need additional help or assistance.
Student WIN Times are scheduled to take place for a 35 minute block of time every Tuesday and Thursday. All students will sign up for a teacher created WIN Time Session of their choosing, depending on their academic need. Teachers will also have the ability to lock a student into a session to help provide additional support if needed.
Additionally, students will have the opportunity to choose WIN Time enrichment sessions if their schedule allow. All of the teacher created sessions and student choices will be managed through a software program called VACAVA that students will have access to on their Chromebook or cell phone app.
We know that our students are busy with a variety of activities, so we are excited to be able to provide additional opportunities for our students during the school day to receive support with their various formative and summative work.
