As with almost everything else this year, the Elementary Spring Musicals look quite a bit different. Luckily, we have amazingly creative and talented teachers at Central! To ensure ALL of the elementary students got to experience the spring musical (whether it's their very first or their very last), Ms. Forst has created virtual music programs for each of her 18 classes this year.
The theme for the 4th and 5th grade programs was "American Composers." 5th grade studied Scott Joplin and 4th grade studied John Philip Sousa.
The theme for the 2nd and 3rd grade programs was "The Green Machine Team." Their program focused on the ways to save energy and 'be green.'
The theme for the Kindergarten and 1st grade programs is "Barnyard Moosical." Their program is about different farm animals.
Ms. Forst created a virtual music program for each class by videoing the performance as it would have looked if we were able to do in-person performances. The students danced, performed on their instruments and cups, wrote their own rhythms to perform on their instruments, created movements to do with ribbons and scarves, created artwork which tied into the theme of the programs, and had speaking lines.
Here are links to some of the older students' performances.
