Dear Central Families,
We have a few updates and clarifications around face coverings and the COVID-19 "Decision Making Tree" that came out yesterday from the MN Dept. of Health.
Please review the attached documents and links, but here are the main points:
- Masks are required for all in person learning while at Central Public Schools, exemptions for face shields will be made on an individual basis with proper documentation from a medical provider. See attached documents for what qualifies as a mask and for the exemption documents.
- MDH has updated its decision making tree for confirmed and possible cases of COVID-19. Central Schools encourages all families to make a plan now in the event that your child needs to move to distance learning for a short period of time. Our goal is to keep our schools open and serving you. We need your help to ensure this can happen. Please see this link for the full MDH decision tree guide that came out on 8.31.20. https://www.health.state.mn.us/diseases/coronavirus/schools/exguide.pdf
- Contact the school nurse if you have questions or need assistance navigating the decision tree.
- If your child is sent home from school due to COVID-19 related symptoms and receives an alternative diagnosis (like strep, etc...) medical documentation will be required stating that the symptoms are not COVID-19 related before they can return to in person learning.
- The building principal and the school nurse will be the main points of contact for face covering or illness related questions.
